We’re starting to get to the nitty-gritty of American Idol.

Emotions ran high and the following contestants secured spots in the Top 8 positions:

Michael Johns, David Archuleta, David Cook, Jason Castro, Carly Smithson, Brooke White, Kristy Lee Cook and Syesha Mercado.

Ramiele Malubay’s fate was not so good. She performed for the last time and was voted off by viewers.. better luck next time!
